Stanford Ballroom is a place where everyone can learn to dance in a fun, relaxed, and welcoming environment.

We are the official ballroom dancing club (VSO) at Stanford University! Our goal is to promote ballroom dancing (DanceSport) in a welcoming environment. We provide weekly beginner and advanced lessons from professional coaches for the cheap price of $FREE.99, and also local competition support (see us at UCSD, UCSB, Cal Poly, Berkeley and more)! We also engage with the community and organize socials :)

Whether you want to explore the world of ballroom dancing or win state and national competitions, our world-class coaches will accompany you at every stage of your journey!

NO PRIOR DANCE EXPERIENCE is expected to join our club. Many of our weekly lessons are beginner friendly and we also offer many socials and workshops that you can attend no matter your level of dance proficiency!
For those interested in being more involved, we also offer many opportunities to take part in performances and competitions!

'Ikaika Dowsett

Intl. Standard Coach

‘Ikaika is a Professional International Standard dancer, coach and choreographer since 2002. He has numerous titles in the Standard ballroom, and as a coach, he has produced and currently works with over 30 US national champions. His coaching methodology is systems based and he enjoys coaching the dancers to think about frameworks, understand body mechanics, nutrition and cross-training, and how to think like an athlete.

Stacey Chuang

Intl. Latin Coach

Stacey is a Professional International Latin dancer and instructor. Dancing since the age of 12, Stacey has been actively competing at the adult Amateur level in the U.S. and was ranked in the top 15 for Amateur Latin USA. She placed top 4 in Professional Rising Star at Vegas Open 2019, and was a consistent finalist in Open Amateur Latin Championships.
